Notary Services

As a Notary Public
, I am a responsible person appointed by state government to witness the signing of important documents and administer oaths.

As a Signing Agent, I am a notary public who specializes in loan document signings and is authorized to act on behalf of the closing agent (lender, escrow, closing company, etc.) to perform the signing portion of the loan transaction.  GLBA Background screened .  Member of the National Notary Association and National Signing Agent Registry

As an eSign Agent,  I am  a notary who is physically present with an end-user of a highly secure system verifying that the person signing on, or executing a command, on that system is in fact the individual that he or she purports to be.

In its most basic and common form is the process of a commissioned notary affixing a digital signature or certificate to an electronic document (laptop provided).  The fundamental components of notarization, including personal appearance of the document signers before the notary, still apply. But rather than a paper document and a rubber stamp notary seal, the notary digitally places his or her identifying information to a document which exists as electronic data in a computer-readable form.  Training provided by Flagstar and Amtrust.

                        Notarization 'Must

1.     The document signer must personally appear before the Notary at time of notarization - not before, not after.  A telephone call from the signer or the Notary's familiarity with a signature is not personal appearance.

The Notary must identify the signer through either (1) personal knowledge or (2) vouching of personally known reliable, uninvolved witness who is under oath or (3) current government-issued ID card with photograph, signature, and physical description.

3.
The Notary must be impartial and disinterested and not notarize a document bearing Notary's name, signature, or that of Notary's spouse or relative, or document, which will in any way benefit the Notary.

4.
The Notary must make a record of each notarization and require document signer to affix signature - and, if necessary, thumb print - in official journal of notarial acts.

5.
The Notary must hold and scan document to note unfilled blanks and glean information (title, name of signers, number of pages, etc.) for recording in journal of notarial acts.

6.     The Notary must not certify a copy of a birth certificate or other vital record or of a recordable document such as a deed. Copies of these documents must be issued only by the appropriate public records custodian.  © 2001 National Notary Association
